Resolve

The NBA Finals pits two teams that have made winning a championship a priority. It’s two groups that have come together and understand that any group of players can wear the same uniform, but only those who sacrifice their individual goals for the betterment of the group can be called a team!

To get this far each team has gone through tremendous highs and some very tough lows. Both of us have experienced losing this season. Both of us have experienced brotherly issues. Both of us have experienced doubters.

But the one thing that has allowed both teams to reach The Finals is that we have both displayed tremendous resolve along the way. We have taken the punches thrown at us (and some we have figuratively thrown at ourselves) and continued to come back; that is what resolve is all about.

The ability to come back time and time again after getting knocked down, knocked back, and at times knocked out. The best come back and give another maximum effort to try to get it right the next time. Losers quit and say it’s too hard. Winners get up and say it’s not going to keep them down.

Winning it all is not supposed to be easy. Winning it all means you have the fortitude to get past hard! You have the resolve to stick to your plan and come back and do it harder and better.

Great lesson for all teams, athletic or corporate. Getting knocked down does not discriminate. It happens in any line of work!
